ok... now that i got this thing lets see what i can do with it...
most review i found on the net recommends me to get a different guitar...
but this is all that i could afford for now.. i guess i have to make the best of it..
alot of users says that this guitar is a "so-so" for beginners..
i think it will fit me... cause i know i've drop to a beginner level at this tie due to me leaving the axe while i was intermediately learning 8 years ago..
i check some errors on the guitar settings as recommended in a guitar forum that i read.
i tighten the screws in and out of the guitars as soon as i got it. also i check the solders of wiring for the pups and bridge just in case they were loosen or not attached properly. the bridge was tilted floating when i got it. but after a few tries, it seems that i had to leave it like that. cause the pickups were very high even after i thighten them down. the strings were buzzing when i lowered them.
so far its ok. although i may need to re-solder the wiring to make sure it lasts.
the action for this guitar was suitable. but its a little too low for my hands. so i increased that a bit too.
now in terms of getting it in tune. i've read alot of users saying that they have a problem with it. they were right..
but 1 comment from yahoo answers kinda gave me the confident to look for solutions and trying it out myself. i may not be good enough to tell the difference but the videos that i found on youtube kinda give a huge help adjusting it. now i got it in tune for a longer period of time.. instead of just a few hard rock songs and whammys.
standard factory pickups were not bad... its very clear... and loud.. though the front pups and center kinda had the same tone at some point, but i think thats because of the factory strings im using. i should've change it to new ones... before i do this..
as for now, im testing it over and over again to see if it stays in tune... im learning as im adjusting the action and intonations along with the bridge settings.
but a huge gap for drop tunings... it may be the strings again. but this this buzz like a bee on drop tunings. and always tune out after a whammy press. no hard heavy pickings on this guitar at the very lease.. so even with the metal guitar look. i dont think its made to play metal songs that much. unless we dont mind re-tuning after every song..
but since this is a very cheap guitar... i can only make the best out of it.
next up, i'll be testing this with direct plug in to PC.
