As i'm writing this entry, it may have been obvious that mblog has some contest or dedication segment for mothers day. And by the time i post this entry, i might've missed it coz my phone was down. I was thinking of sending something too, but it may not be published in the dedication blog anyway. So i wrote it in my pc and wait for my phone fixed so i could transfer it.
Throughout the month, i keep seeing all this thing bout mothers day, love and stuff on Tv till i start wondering, how could they come up with a certain date of the month to honor our parents? Who came up with this lousy idea anyway? And why did it have to be in may for mothers and june for fathers? Personaly i feel that this thing is to be done on a different date for different people, not set on certain month. I mean, for some people, this specific date could be some bad memories to them. And what is honor if it only gave that? I certainly wouldn't want it, would you?
Besides, i see it as a little unfair for those that never knew their parents and still given all the love they need. How are the orphans are going to honor their parents? Some may not be able to do so. In some cases, like me, which are raised by a single parent. Mothers day and fathers day are dedicated to the same person. So whats the point is fathers day in june for me? My mom did everything that a father should do to me, since i never had one. Thats why i think that this mothers in may and fathers in june stuff is a lousy idea. We should do it all at once, and call it, Parents Day. =j
So i wondered, when exactly is, mothers and fathers day? Does it really have to be in may or june? Correct me if i'm wrong, but this, honoring our folks thing, is special, and very personal. It should be a day that we could remember easily without a festive calendar to remind us. And if we still have to put a date for it, that date IS and SHOULD be, our birthdays. =j Yeah, we all remembered birthdays. That is the day our parents became parents in the first place. The day they started ! being ou r moms and dads, whether we like it or not.
So instead of waiting for this specific date on the calendar to show our moms and dads how we love them, lets do it on our birthdays. It'll be alot more fun and memorable for the whole family. Isn't it? Hmmm... Then again, for families that has more than 5 children would have one hell me a year. =j
Honestly, i dont think that a certain date is so important to honor our parents. We should be honoring them every second we breath air. And this entry, is dedicated to all loving mothers and fathers out there, to remind their children. Hehe. Anyway, by the time you're reading this someone out there had just become a new mom, or a dad. So i wish them.
