Since I once stayed in the streets awhile back, I manage to survive with it for almost two month. I did try applying vacancies at hotels around k.l. But without a place to stay is quite a hustle. I hang out awhile with some boys in Chow Kit including some drug addicts. I never do anything like that in my entire life, yet i'm hanging out with them.
Dont get me wrong, but I still see the human inside these guys. Cause I seem to notice and understand their situation for using drugs. I was lucky not brought up in their shoes. Otherwise I might do what they did too.
During those days, I only work part-time at a car-wash. Pays enough to keep me from stealing peoples money. In about a week or two I sold my guitar to get me a new one. That started me playing as a
baskerin jalan ipoh which i did not do so well. But after awhile it gives me the cash to get a room in Mid Valley. I didn't stop playing guitar yet cause I was having fun with what I do. For the first time in my life, I enjoyed being the attention in a crowd. Even when they didn't give any money, I didn't care, I was having a blast. Doing basking helps put my anger and hate out in a more safer ways.
But the money flow didn't go as good as I feel. So i took another part-time job in Mid Valley area as a store boy in a toy shop. Since that I got enough money to give my mom and some for my music needs.
During off days I hang out around Mid Valley with my guitar, and met a few new friends in the security officers there. Also got invited to compete in the Malaysian Idols competition by some guy that recognizes me, basking in Telawi, which I turned down, twice. Its not my intention to be a star or popular in music. Just the dream to be in the industries.
(OK, I lied, I wanted so much to be in the competition but I was not in a position that allows me to enter that show. Just my luck eh? I could have been along side with Jacq Victor. lol)
As i went through days in that toy shop, i found my second favorite hobby, internet. There was a store that opens up a 24hr internet near by Mid-Valley. I often hang out there to get info on music and stuffs. So after awhile, my musical minds got in the way of my work again.
With the basking, and internet surfing for songs makes up time for me to be a little lazy with my job. Eventually i quit to focus on music again. Trying to find a studio that requires vacancies. My passion is too strong in it to let go. I use my basking money to send my mom, and surf the net.
But... After a few months, I got tired of the running around. I look for something I can do that earns money and still be able to get my music playing. I asked around for opinion, and my security friends recommended, their jobs. There were none available at their place, but there are plenty around that has vacancies. So I figured, what the heck. Lets give it a shot.
Security jobs do gives hostels to their staffs and transportation if needed, so I start asking around for it. I got one after a few company tries, in Cheras. Back to where I started living alone the first time. Lucky me huh?
So i went to Cheras and try to get me a place to stay. After a few days i manage to know a guy working in a game center there. He offered me his place for rent. Since they live nearby my security office, i took it. So there began my journey in Cheras again. Different area but still the same old music stores. Most of my free time i spent in the jamming studio around that area. I felt like i was 18 again. My new employer didnt bother bout me and my guitar playing behavior during work cause it helps me awake during night shifts. And it did get me to be among the trusted staff not being caught asleep like the rest of their crew.
Internet was still a favorite option during salary days. Once i got paid, after sending money to my mom and pay my rent, i usually went surfing the web. At any known cybercafe there. That's when i found an old friend from Perak, Airel. Or rather, he found me. The guy jump me from behind while i was clicking away to music land. I was really surprise to see this guy in K.l. Its not really natural for me to be recognized by my own villagers. But he did. He still remembered how naughty we were during raya. We practically rob our neighbors for duit raya by coming to their houses couple of times with different clothes and pretended that were never came.
(Oh yeah, its good to be bad... lol)
Anyway, Airel was very fond of knowing that i lived nearby. He brought me to his place and offered my stay there, i declined his line offer. Not that i don't like him or anything. Its just that I'm comfortable with my new Sabahan friends. Besides, that his place is slightly further from any jamming studio. A bus trip distance.
Since meeting him, life is never the same again. Its more busy for me to jump around from one place to another. But for old time sake, i didn't mind. Airel introduce me to Terry. A Chinese friend and roommate. Terry is a cool guy. A computer expert. But he doesn't talk much. Short reply for short questions, that's his attitude. At first glance he'd seem snobby but he is not. Just that he ain't much of a talker. In a way, he is more like me in real life. And since we have the same hobby for Internets, he's kind enough to spends his time answering my boring lame question about the net world that he knew. I once awhile borrowed his spare laptop to browse the net.
